2019/20 Show Choir Audition Information
Information Night (Required):
March 28th, 7:00pm, MNHS Auditorium
All Students snd Parents/Guardians must attend this meeting or meet with Ms. Tantillo in regards to Show Choir cost and expectations.
Audition Prep Classes:
April 1st, 2nd, & 4th, 3:30pm - TBD, MNHS Music Wing
Rehearsal sessions will take place in the Choir Room and Multi-Purpose room at Millard North. Students need to attend as many rehearsal sessions as necessary to learn the audition material. Attendance will not be taken.
AUDITIONS:
April 6th, 7:30am - 6:00pm, MNHS
Students will signup for a 7 minute time slot with a partner of a different voice part. The signup form will be available on TUESDAY, APRIL 2nd, at 4:30pm. We will try our best to accommodate as many special request as possible. Auditions are CLOSED to spectators.
WHAT DOES THE AUDITiON LOOK LIKE?
Any Millard North High School student is eligible to audition audition. Those students selected for a show choir must also be enrolled in Voce Choir, Cantori Choir, or Singers Choir next year. Spaces are filled on the basis of vocal talent and movement/performance skills.
The audition will consist of:
Singing “My Country Tis of Thee” without accompaniment in the key of your choice.
Singing and dancing the required song taught at the audition workshops April 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
Returning a signed permission form PRIOR to the audition.
Students will audition in pairs, but must perform “My Country Tis of Thee” alone. There will be a panel of at least 3 judges for the audition and their decision will be final.
